As a long-standing sponsor of The FA and official supporter of the England's Women's Team, Mars felt the Women’s game didn’t get enough recognition. So they did something about it. By creating a powerful rallying cry of #SupportHer we got the nation behind our girls for the 2019 Women’s World Cup - and women in general. The campaign launched with the creation of the first ever female footballer statue in the UK as part of Mars' ongoing commitment to championing and inspiring the current England Lionesses and future female sports stars. The life-size bronze statue, imagined in honour of women's football trailblazer Lily Parr, was brought to life by award-winning Sussex-based sculptor, Hannah Stewart. Her statue’s unveiling at Manchester’s National Football Museum in June got huge PR and was part of a full 360 SupportHer campaign which included digital and social media activity, encouraging the nation to show their support, as well as in Co-op stores who offered prizes to those who took part and showed their support.
